Meg Ruocco is a comedy writer and improviser currently living in New York City. As a little fat kid, she used humor to cope — as a beautiful fat adult, she still uses humor to cope, but now she has an MFA in Screenwriting about it. Her writing interrogates the coming-of-age genre by highlighting femme characters struggling to overcome societal pressures and become who they really are.
Meg’s pilot, “What Are You Up To,” was awarded as the 2023 Creative World Awards Overall Sitcom Winner. She currently performs bi-monthly on Lloyd Night at The Upright Citizen’s Brigade (NY) with her improv team, Clippy. Her production experience ranges from independent film sets to Late Night with Seth Meyers, and her musings on TikTok have amassed over 18 million likes — which has been a nice boost to her ego.
Meg is a proud graduate of the 2024 WGA East Support Staff Basic Training program on the Writers’ Assistant track. When she isn’t writing, Meg is probably gossiping with her friends over drinks and a delicious meal, Sex and the City style.
